WHAT’S INVOLVED IN UPPER CERVICAL HEALTHCARE?
Your nervous system controls everything you sense and feel, every movement you make, regulates every body function, and allows you to relate to the world around you. When your body has nervous system interference, when there is anything less than 100% nervous system function, acute and chronic health issues can arise. Upper cervical chiropractic care involves the assessment and restoration of central nervous system function.
Your health and healing is orchestrated and managed by your nervous system. Upper cervical chiropractic care addresses the foundation of nervous system dysfunction by analyzing and removing misalignment of the top two bones in your neck (the upper cervical complex). These bones surround the vitally important master control center of your nervous system, the brainstem. When injury or stress causes these bones to misalign or lose their biomechanical integrity, it inhibits proper nervous system function.
Upper cervical chiropractic care restores the alignment and proper movement of these bones surrounding the brainstem and spinal cord, allowing your nervous system to function at 100% and heal your body from the inside out.
COMPUTERIZED INFRARED THERMOGRAPHY
Thermography is a medical technology approved by the FDA as a neurodiagnostic procedure. It reveals when nervous system dysfunction exists so a correction can be made. Dr. Andrea utilizes this during each patient visit.
UPPER CERVICAL CORRECTIONS
An upper cervical chiropractic correction is administered by Dr. Andrea only when nervous system dysfunction is present as indicated by a thermographic scan. When clinically necessary, a correction is made to the upper cervical spine to remove interference and restore nervous system homeostasis. Following the correction, patients rest in a zero-gravity position after which another thermograph is used to confirm the correction was successful. The correction restores proper communication and function between the brain and body.
In order to make a specific and accurate upper cervical correction, upper cervical x-rays (and other necessary x-rays) are taken. These x-ray images are then analyzed to determine misalignment and dysfunction of the upper cervical vertebrae. Radiological examinations are performed only when clinically necessary to provide the best care possible for all patients.
